We took a family Spring Break delivery trip to Orlando in April of 2024. One of our very favorite things is turning a business trip into a family trip. We flew into the Tampa Bay Airport (TPA) and stayed the first night in Hyatt House. We then drove to Lakeland, Florida for puppy delivery. We had been training this doodle for the last 8 months. The plan was to drop her off with her new family. Teach them some of the commands we had taught so that they could keep the lessons going and then give them a couple days to see what else they might need. With those next 3 days we went to Walt Disney World and stayed off-site in they Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. It is a gorgeous hotel with an immense outdoor pool and family recreation area. I cannot say enough good things about this location. The only disappointment was that I received a text offering us a “Free Upgrade” to a suite and did not see it until after check-in. We went to Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The crowds were fairly ridiculous which kept us away from the Magic Kingdom. However, it was fun to get a trip in with our family. See Mickey Mouse and friends and otherwise unwind. On the last day we went back to our goldendoodle puppy and her new family to check-in on them and further work on ways to best adapt their new puppy individually to their lifestyle and home. At Happy Doodle Farm we pride ourselves on training our puppies and then working with the families to keep the aftercare going. At Happy Doodle Farm we are just a quick trip to any location. Orlando is closer than most with their frequent non-stop flights. On our last delivery we flew with the new puppy in cabin and I met the new puppy parents in the airport. The downside with air travel is that you never know how long it might take. So it’s always a better safe than sorry situation which sometimes means there’s a bit of down time. First, I got on the plane and we were delayed, but I was able to keep our customers contacted the entire time. In the time between the flight landing and the next flight leaving I had 10 hours. So I ended up spending the day in a day-rate hotel. I actually did not know this was a thing, but went to the DayUse.com website and was able to book a room at the Embassy Suites near Orlando Airport. It was a quick shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel and I was able to have a relaxing day, took a nap and flew back home.
